Day 3

After the climb up to Loup Loup Pass I get to wear the Polkadot Jersey as King of the Mountains.
Myna and Ellen show their descending skills

Past the Cascades - Amazing how dramatic the moisture change is.

Washington apples grown under drip irrigation

Eagles nest with Eaglet

The Bacon Bike Hostel - this is an amazing place in Colville.  Dr. and Mrs. Bacon made us feel very welcome.  If you are in Colville biking, this is worth a trip.

The view from the deck of the Bacon Bike Hostel.

  1. Great to see that you are making progress. I wondered about access to the net. Keep posting and I'll keep reading. I wish you tailwinds and downslopes all the way.

  2. That, sniff. . . sniff. . . is the most beautiful . . . jersey that I have ever seen.

  3. Your preschooler would like to tell you that a baby eagle is not, in fact, called an eaglet.
A baby eagle is called a "beagle." (Like red jello is called "rello" these days. She's into plays on words.)

  4. Very cool. Almost makes me feel a little guilty for cutting off my last two rides because of rain. Almost.

  5. This looks like such an awesome trip! I hope you are having a blast!! Can't wait to see you and hear all about it!
